The nearby Dolores River offers some of the finest rafting trips available in Colorado. Visit the historic Bedrock Store, founded in 1887, where scenes from movies such as "Thelma & Louise" were shot. Camping at nearby reservoirs like Buckeye and Miramonte offers quiet solitude and excellent fishing. Abundant game and the remote location provide great hunting for all kinds of wildlife. Rich in mining heritage this area played an important part in the development of uranium for atomic energy.
